Jim Collins Lead Vocals/Percussion

Jim started singing at the age of 6 in his grandmothers’ church in Moline, Ill. While in high school, he was awarded the honor of being in the Iowa All State Choir. Following high school, he attended West Point Military Academy where he was a member of the West Point Glee Club and Gospel Choir. They preformed many different venues during his tenure there. He then transferred to Bradley University and was offered a scholarship in music. Following his graduation, Jim sang at many solo engagements for weddings and social gatherings. Professionally, Jim performed several roles in the Chicago Street Theatre version of “Annie”. Most recently he preformed with “Second Wind” and “Safe Harbor” playing the circuit of Northwest Ind. and Chicago, Ill. “Singing brings me to another place; I embrace every performance like it’s my first and cherish every moment”.

Lanier Chiesi Drums/Percussion

Originally from a town outside of Pittsburgh Pa, Lanier started playing drums when his grandparents bought him a toy drum at a very young age. During his grade school years he took formal lessons with several well known drummers. In high school, he was a member of the marching and concert bands and won several state gold metals for rudimentary solo competition performances. While attending college, he teamed up to form a classic rock and original trio called “High Stakes” performing in the Northwest Ind. and Chicago land region. Lanier left the music industry briefly to raise a family but never left his drums. Because of his love of music and uncontrollable desire to perform in live venues, he hit the ground running with “Second Wind” and most recently with “Safe Harbor”. Lanier states, “Playing drums will always be in my blood. I am constantly working on rhythms in my head and working them into the mix”.

Rick Scobey Lead Guitar/Vocals

Rick attended the Conservatory of Music in Chicago, IL. afterwards playing in a variety of several bands. He spent two years in an all original band called “Asylum”, playing concert venues in the Chicago land area.  He later joined a cover band entitled "Crystal Eclipse" and another all original band "Cosmos" doing some recording and performing at local bars in Northwest IN.   Finding his stride, Rick went on a full-time whirlwind road gig by starting an acoustic duo, "Scobey and Phillips” playing in cities from Fort Lauderdale, FL. to Rapid City, SD.  He settled back in Northwest Ind. and started "Cruisers Dream", playing the circuit again.  Most recently he finished a four year stint with "All Tooned Up".  Rick says “I love playing to live audiences and there are none that compare to the people in this region”.

Mike Comstock Bass Guitar/Backup Vocals

With over 30 years in music, Mike has preformed in many bands across Northwest Ind. and Illinois. To mention a select few he toured with the “Notations” and “Cruisers Dream”. Shortly after that he joined “Duchess” and was the host band at the Holiday Star Resort for over six years. He also played with “EGBG’s” and did many of the local casinos, clubs and restaurants. “It is so cool to play music for people and see how they get into it. It really makes you feel good”.

Jim Thorstad Rhythm Guitar/Harmonica/Backup Vocals

Jim has played guitar ever since he was in high school. He played in several garage bands during that time but wasn’t old enough to play in the bar scenes. His college years at I.U landed him in Bloomington area bands that preformed for local gigs that included clubs and private parties. Upon graduation from college, Jim joined the Marines and left the area but not music. While stationed in Japan, he joined up with a group of enlisted men and played regular gigs around the complex. Finishing his stint, Jim returned to the states and continued playing guitar and also taught himself how to play the harmonica. He has played several party gigs with jam bands such as “Taylor Made”. Touring with “Safe Harbor” he has played the Northwest Ind. and Chicago land area. “This is me, playing and bringing this altogether is what it’s all about”.
